In June of last year members of the Space Mob crew: Dary, Quinn, Crosse, and Jesse embarked on an incredible journey through one of the wakeboard street spot meccas, Ohio.

The plan was to make the trek from Valdosta to Ohio with 10 days to drive, scope, and stack as many clips as possible. It just-so-happened that Jake Ramsdell is originally from one of the areas we planned to go so he jumped in the truck with us, along with our friends/filmers Pnut and Steve Jarrett.  We had a couple bumps in the road but in the end we had one of the most memorable and successful trips we have ever had.

Dary finds a nice backside wallride before making his deposit at the bank.

The first spot turned out to be amazing, there were a lot of different ways to hit it and we were keen to try a few lines out.

Jesse has one of the best Melons in the game.  Why not throw one into this huge bank!?

Not your average wakeskate spot with a not so average wakeskater.  Jake puts down a massive ollie down the beast.

Quinn with a big fs wall ride taking that shit to the bank.  No direct deposits here.  Dary at the top of the dam getting the fishy angle.  Team work makes the dream work.

The first spot was so sick we went back the next day, Jake even saved a man from drowning. After we beat that spot to death it was on to the next one. The second spot was a spillway with a one-of-a-kind concrete incline ledge to drop down a dam, one of the best spots any of us had ever seen. We had a ton of tricks planned and were ready to see what opportunities the spot would hold. Upon arrival we immediately noticed the “Death Curb” that was nestled a few inches under the water right where the landing was. Immediately we had to rethink our plans and tricks for the spot. After some thought and improvisation we ended up leaving with some of the best clips of the trip.

Crosse adding some buttery goodness to the winch mission with this slappy wallride bs lip.  Quinn getting up close and personal with the fisheye.

If you've ever been winching then you already  know.... preperation is key for sucess!

Dary has never been a slacker when it comes to stlye.  Always grabbing tricks more proper and longer than the average rider.  Nothing changes when he's behind a winch.

Nothing better than a legit crail down a drop.  Jesse showing us exactly what that looks like.

Quinn spinning backside down the drop right before the storm rolled in and shut the session down

After a quick dispersement from the second spot, on account of a fast moving storm, we made it back to our airbnb to find that the UHaul trailer had leaked as we drove through the rain. Unfortunately the water had collected on our new prototype electric winch in the exact spot that was supposed to stay dry. The next morning we decided to get the back-up winch ready and test it at a flooded park as we worked to see if we could fix the electric winch.

Jake with a backside 180 over the bench.

Feeling like our luck had run out, we sent it anyway to the next spot with our primitive gas winch in tow. The next spot showed a lot of promise based on what we had seen on google maps. When we showed up, there was a tree perfectly laid over the dam. Some locals also told us that the dam was supposed to be destroyed a couple of months ago but no one ever came to tear it down. Feeling as though our luck had turned back around, we began to prep the spot. After a quick set up and one angry old lady to deal with we were ready to session.

Dirty D lays down a high risk back lip despite the shallow and rocky landing.

We all were on cloud nine as we wrapped up the tree spot. Knowing we had just hit the jackpot we aimed to keep the high rolling by saving the best spot for last. When we arrived to scope the spot we were completely blown away by what we saw. This was 10 spots in one, all of which like something we had never seen before. We were so excited, we even “borrowed” some materials from the construction site next door. We did some test runs with plans to come back the following day. After getting a few clips and planning out our final day, we celebrated at a local watering hole, where locals told us that the canal we had been riding and planned to ride in was full of human excrement…. Like actual human shit. There was a bit of deliberation but ultimately the spots were too sick to pass up and we decided to resume as planned.

Jesse throwin' a Melon frontside 360 down this unique spillway.  Just look and that head whip, fully committing to the 360 before it even happens, love it.

Dary charging the same spot as Jesse but he always finds a different way to hit things.  Backside wallride out of the shute!  It's always nice when you can hit the same spot in a different way.

Who doesn't love a good creeper?  Whenever you find one in the streets it's always extra special.  Quinn put down this backside fitty immediateley after seeing a used condom float past him as he walked the winch line back to the top.  I think he was ready to bolt this trick and get the fuck out of there.

Quinn posing the for the camera in the trenches after finally getting what he was after.  Winch mission is complete.  Time to go home and get back to work at the wake park.
